My only reservation is I don't think he's the man to come in at this point of the season and turn it around - although I could be wrong. We have the players to stay up, we just need someone to get the best out of them and if the players buy into his style of play it should be enough to see us through.

But still, it's a massive gamble and I don't like that muppet Moshiri using our club as his playground.

Porto was the best part of a decade ago and since then he's managed in tin pot leagues or done terribly in European leagues. Let's not dress this up as something it isn't, we're not signing a top class manager we're employing a journeyman who is a mate of a mate. Moshiri is running the club like a local estate agents.
 
What an absolute joke of an appointment if true. Honestly we don't learn. Moshiri is a joke and wish he was nowhere near club. He is clueless. Would not be shocked if we went down. It would be all our own doing and be deserving. Sick of the club.

With Rooney a blind and deaf can see that he has no interest to do serious work. Typical footballer. Better to give a grown up the task!

And I have no doubt he will be better prepared now for his next job. He's very young for a manager and can improve a lot. That's the benefit of hiring someone younger and letting them grow with their team.

Rather we went for someone who already has shown they can improve a team instead of someone we only hope has learned from what they did wrong last time. Lampard and Jody Morris might have learned how to set up a functioning press in the time since Chelsea, but Lampard probably knows he doesn't have to in order to land a job, clubs will still want to employ him because of his name. As you say he *can* improve a lot, but there's no way of telling he actually will. Chances are he's a much better coach than he was but wouldn't you rather hire someone whose coaching credentials are already proven?

I appreciate we're not in a position to be overly picky about these things but I don't see what Lampard, Pereira or Rooney would do in terms of tactics and coaching that would lift the team. Moshiri and the board won't know a thing about this either, all we can do is hope whoever gets the job can get us to safety.

Yes but managers in that position aren't interested.

We need to find the next top manager before they are established and let them establish themselves at the top table here. We have no other option.

Vitor Perreira? What is the point...

I always supported the club and I always will.

I gave Benitez a chance but he ultimatley proved me right, unfortunately, simply because he was a busted flush and a man out of time in world football, who was never right for us.

That was unlike you and a few others, who went out of their way to make excuses for him even when it was clear he was making us worse, not better.

I hope VP succeeds if appointed, and I will get behind him and the team - there is nothing else I can do.

I just hope Moshiri sees sense on this....

Its funny cause if we had of beat Leicester that's what he would have done. See selling digne for Rafael and sacking Rafael a few days later.

He's all over the shop.
