Sick of this rubbish - Benitez was backed by the vast majority of us. He just wasn't up to the job and had to deliver decent results to make it work, which many said he was incapable of, and we were proven right.

What the fan club did was to make excuses and absolve him of any blame for the absolute car crash we were witnessing on the pitch and tactically under his direction.

I've said before, he was never the only problem at Everton, but he was a huge problem as he never sorted out the thing he was put in place to sort and that he could exert some control over - the squad, tactics, players and results.

Whoever Moshiri appoints will be backed by the majority of fans as we're in absolute dire straits otherwise, even VP.

To make out Benitez and the team were not backed by many is disingenuous.

We don't need to hire anyone for a relegation battle because the right level of choice right now fixes all our problems by the city game. Hiring someone with no experience and is Ill suited to this league however delays the problem further. By then, it won't be just a few wins that we need.

The man we hire has to be long term , otherwise what is the actual point? We will be right back here in the summer, just a division down.

The question you really need to ask is could someone like Rooney or lampard win 5 of our remaining games with some of the players we have here? Could someone like them win 5 games (burnley x2 , Watford , Leeds , Newcastle x2 , Brentford , Southampton to name a few).
