Storm in a teacup all this expenses/corruption row. The situation remains the same as it ever was. Aside from some Tory grandee claiming for a clean out of his moat, and the odd one or two 'flipping' of second homes, the majority of these crimes have been to claim for coffees and pencils. If they want to clear out the system they should start by dealing root and branch with the lobbying system and MPs feathering their own nest as 'consultants' (aka pushing some corporations agenda) whilst sitting on the backbenches or even being part of parliamentary committees. But that's not what the Tories (and many Labour and Lib Dems) are after, and it's not the target they've let the British media off the leash to track down and encourage the public to channel their attack against. I'm no fan of New Labour - they're record on delivering on promises of a more equal society leaves a lot to be desired - but what we're seeing now is not right, it's an orchestrated coup against an elected government played out in the media. Fair enough, New Labour have failed. We're moving into dangerous territory, though, in the way they're being ousted from power.
This is possibly the rightest thing ever posted on here.
