Another grand old football ground going. Bootham Crescent, York City's ground to become a housing estate. I played on Bootham Crescent several times. Always a fantastic playing surface, like a bowling green. I once went for trials there when Sam Bartram (brilliant goalie for Charlton Athletic) was manager. At the time, I told them that if I signed I wanted to retain my amateur status. It was either that, or the fact they thought I was crap, but I never heard any more from them!

Car has just failed it's MOT for a few bits but think Kwik Fit quote might be OTT. If anyone knows anything about cars would be great.
I don't know enough about cars to be in a position to advise you.
I do however know enough about Kwik Fit to say NEVER, EVER take a car there for an MOT

Apparently might need two new headlamps because of their focus not being right. Spoke to a mate and he recommended a buffer kit as opposed to a thousand pound for two lamps.

I remember about 5 years back I took mine to a Kwik Fit for MOT and funnily enough was also told that I needed a new headlight. They said that the 'automatic' adjuster wasn't working on one side. I took it elsewhere and it passed first time after they adjusted the beam manually (at no cost)
