Fury over new Nike Air Max women's trainers that 'look like an IRON'

The Nike Air Max FF 720 shoes, which are sponsored by England footballer Fran Kirby, have been slammed for sending out the wrong message.

Shoppers say the Nike Air Max FF 720, which has two cut outs and a thick clear plastic sole, looks like the household appliance.

They believe this sends out the wrong message - even though England star Fran Kirby and tennis player Laura Robson have endorsed the product.

A spokesperson for feminist group Not Buying It commented sarcastically: "I'm sure they’ll be doing this for men too, of course.

"Maybe it could be paired up with some 'extreme ironing' - you know, when people, mostly blokes, iron while sky diving."

And people have taken to Twitter to share their disgust today.

One drew the connection, prompting a raft of replies with pictures of real irons and captions.

Well women do like ironing, and they’re good at it. That’s a compliment.

Does anyone remember that TV series ‘The Waltons’?. Because the cricket’s not being played I channel surfed and came across a feature length episode on some obscure channel I’ve never watched before. It was set at Easter time and the storyline wasn’t anything to write home about. I used to quite fancy the mum...but she had a bloke’s name though(Michael, I think), and in my fantasies, I found it difficult to imagine doing it with someone you call Michael. So I switched my attentions to the oldest daughter...can’t remember her name.
She was called Dave. So no joy there either.

Now that solstace is passed and the nights are drawing in, winter is coming and all .... what was your favourite thing about the summer?

Tut, tut *solstice.
I quite agree. I ditched my keyboard app this morning. It was so mental it was replacing correct words with gobbledygook. Solstice is a word I've seen misspelled so often that I have doubts, however I did notice it was a word my predictive text changed to solstace and just went with it.
