The results of the poll respectfully disagree.
Not really. 90% disagree that 5th should be considered mid-table, they seem to be having some difficulty in agreeing what exactly does constitute mid-table.

10% on here. Would be interesting to see the results if such a poll was posted elsewhere. And as you said previously, lots of people can be wrong, including the 90% you refer to.
But the differing opinions as to what exactly does constitute mid-table on here, indicates that it's a question that isn't governed by GCSE mathematics, and that a person's individual perspective is playing a part
So minority means wrong?
Jesus @Woolly Blue. it's not enough that we're feeling the pain now, you have to travel back in time and destroy last year's happiness.
How is 5th mid table in a 20 team league, i'm really struggling to understand this one..?
ummm...... 10-12 of these teams are just warm bodies. Everyone knows they aint winning anything before the season. so if we cut them out....5 is half of 10?How is 5th mid table in a 20 team league, i'm really struggling to understand this one..?
What's with all the doubt and uncertainty, and the inability to agree on a definition of what constitutes mid-table? I thought the Key Stage 3 mathematics had it all sorted?
Traditionally speaking, 5th place was mid-table, and you will continue hearing people describe it as such. I am a traditionalist, and therefore I continue to consider it a mid-table position.
Traditionally, a 5th place finish would leave you three places places below the team that qualified for the UEFA Cup. But in the Sky-Boy era, you can have teams finishing 7th and even 8th qualifying for Europe. Maybe things are changing, but traditionally, 5th place was mid-table, and it still is for many people.
It saddens me that there are people out there that believe 5th is mid-table.

8th to 13th I'd say.
1st to 7th is top ( maybe 1st to 6th, which would make 7th mid-table)
14th to 20th is bottom, which always makes me think of Rik Mayall. RIP Rik.
