Gylfi Sigurdsson. Waster in chief. At least Delph has the decency to not take up a starting position in the team. Sigurdsson has crippled this club from the moment he walked through the door.

Sigurdsson is garbage but he did score 14 goals in his first season at the club and has scored more goals in the league this season than Richarlison.

He's nowhere near the drain imo that the likes of Tosun, Bolasie, Delph have been who have offered nothing whilst being here.

Add Kean and Bernard who need moving on this window or in the summer.

My sweet,On one hand you've just said it's not his fault, but on the other you've called him a "waster".... Surely you must see how people may see this as odd?
Nah, he's a waster but it's not his fault. Same as Davies, he's crap, but it's not really his fault that he's crap.. it's just the way it is. He can't change it, he's just crap and a waster.

Its the cost of those goals. This is the first ok Everton side with Sigurdsson in it, and even then he wasn’t part of the first run of wins we had when we were playing decent football. He’s been the 45 million pound white elephant at the heart of some horrific Everton teams. Due to his lack of pace it’s like playing with ten men defensively whenever he is on the pitch. I’m convinced that any other player afforded the ‘drifting second striker’ role, all penalties; and every set piece could probably deliver a far better output. God forbid we ever afforded James the privileges Sigurdsson has been given.

He’s a dangerous fraud because in bad teams he’ll out the set piece in that a corner is scored from, or score the consolation goal, then he comes away from a 5-2 mauling with a goal and assist despite the fact half the reason for the mauling in the first place is because his lack of pace has allowed the opposition midfield to totally get on top of us. Managers like Silva and Allardyce desperate for a goal will still always pick him based on that even though it’s killing the team. Any other player would just be benched for playing that badly.

Carlo had him sussed and he wasn’t even getting in the starting lineups but lo and behold injury to Gomes and James has once again allowed this clown back into the starting line up just as Carlo moved to a 4231 and we got some decent results. So once again the plaudits for taking a penalty and putting an ok corner come rushing in for him, even though during this run we’ve been dominated by a poor Arsenal team, got matched by a terrible Sheffield United team and got had off at home by United and West Ham.

I just want him out the club. I’m fed up of him. Why should our competitors have fast incisive skilful players and we get this bloke who can’t run quicker than they can jog. Yet no matter how we buy, fate drags him back into his favoured number 10 position, drags Everton back to 4231, and drags us back to wondering why we can’t get on top of teams like we should and why our strikers don’t score anymore.

There was a midfield triumvirate of pure incompetence at Everton in Schneiderlin (good enough but utter fraud and lazy coward), Sigurdsson (not good enough but also a fraud and lazy coward)) and Davies (tries his best but just not good enough). They have dogged the last 4 years at this club. The fact that two of them are still in our starting line up is an absolute travesty. Until all three are out the door this club won’t improve. As soon as there’s the slightest chance that one might come on in a game we are immediately ceding control to the opposition and effectively plying with ten men.

I want these midfield imposters out of Everton and for once to go into a midfield battle with the top 6 without thinking that two of our midfield won’t get near there’s for the whole game.

Allan Doucoure Gbamin Gomes plus two others then get these two clowns out.

Im afraid those two you have listed offer less than Sigurdsson. Gbamin cost £25 million and played 2 games and if he returns from injury half the player he'll end up being shifted out for a pittance.

Gomes does just as much hiding as Sigurdsson but without the occasional goal or assist.

we don’t know about Gbamin, and it’s not his fault he got injured. If he’s no good then he’ll need to be replaced but we can’t write him off before we’ve seen him.

Gomes played well for the first three games of the season, then played ok in the derby (given the quality of the opposition). He the. Was shunted out of position against Newcastle and also picked up injury. It’s been very stop start since then.

What I do know is that Gomes in good form is miles miles better than Sigurdsson and does have the pace to play at this level. He was arguably our best player against West Ham when he came on.

It’s no surprise to me our best midfield performances this season, particularly Spurs away, came when neither Davies or Sigurdsson were in the lineup (indeed Sigurdsson almost cost us the Spurs game as as soon as he came on we dropped a level and just invited Spurs all over us)

I agree we shouldn't write Gbamin off but for me the club shouldn't basing any future transfer plans on the basis of him coming in and being good enough as we simply dont know how he will turn out.

Gomes, Davies, Siggurdsson are all the same to me - okay bringing on to see a game out but realistically any team competing for the top 6 spots need better starting players.

I would keep Davies as he's likely on cheap wages and use him when down to bare bones but I would personally be looking to offload both Siggurdsson and Gomes in the summer.

Replace them with a pacey mobile CM who can pass a ball forward and also tackle and the midfield becomes very strong in terms of competition for places.
