Put the Everton score on the highfield road scoreboard for the players to see.
And the rest is history.

I remember they had all the old park end standing and seats,a lot were in the paddock /bullens road,main stand/enclosure,my own estimate would have been 15k,it was a huge game for Sunderland,maybe my calculations are out though!!

Interesting episode of Granada's "kick off" which covers Everton's sacking of Billy Bingham,including interviews with Harry Catterick and Johnny Carey. Includes both goals that knocked Stoke out of the FA Cup in Bingham's last game. I was very young at the time (only went to my first ever game a few weeks before that!)so didn't really understand what was happening at the time,but thought it might be an interesting watch for Evertonians who remember this. As an aside,Billy Ashcroft,the Wrexham striker(also played for Middlesbrough as well) also interviewed on this programme about Wrexham's exploits,happens to be a big Blue as well!

Absolutely awesome interviews.

This really should be posted everywhere. For what ambition Everton demands.

Sure that was the game when Psycho Pat decked Speedie on the halfway line, only a cple of cameras about then so wasnt picked up.

Not 100% sure. Didnt see it myself but heard a big cheer and saw him in the deck with Pat standing over him. Might have been a different game, but deffo Chelsea and a live televised game, and PVH was playing centre half.
