"Watch Classic Matches Again"

Today's Big Match Revisited was an interesting watch. QPR v Burnley. Dave Thomas showing the promise that led to his great partnership with Latchford with us. Newton looking as average as he did with us. And the early look at Billy Rodaway hacking down forwards.
Burnley's winner would look strange to younger forum members, scored while Gillard was layed out in the six yard box with players virtually tripping over him.
Sad to see Dave Clement given what happened not that far in his future.

Watched that earlier, nothing better than Dave Thomas hugging the touchline and beating the player by pace. Its funny watching the Big Match, when the commentator says, good play by the youngster ..... and you just remember the player as a ex seasoned international.

Couldn't agree more, DT. Vernon, for me, was better than the Golden Vision.
He was more consistent - the GV got all the adulation.......the GV stated some games passed him by, they claim ed if Roy had not smoked as heavy as he did - he would have been better than Jimmy Greaves & Dennis Law ..,....as over12 yards he had seen no one faster for a chain smoker.......
I.E if he had that pace all over the pitch, he would have been the best striker in the UK In his era ......
