"Watch Classic Matches Again"

Went on to play for the Mancs in the FA Cup Final against us in 85. Treble on the cards that day, Whiteside with a stunner and Bootle boy Atkinson lapping it all up.

Scored a cracking own goal in the Milk cup for them against us toolol
I was at that game , if I remember rightly it was a great header ! Remember some Everton fan fired a distrees flare at all their hooligans in the Paddock just after ! Think we had just beaten them 5-0 the previous weekend !
It was all starting to come together and great times were ahead !

Me too mate, night games in particular at OT were always a bit "feisty" off the pitchlol

Being brought up in the 80s it was instilled in me to hate the mancs, give opposing fans and players the v signal.....then got an Eccles cake for my good behavior.

Had to refrain myself the other year when at Crosby Beach some snotty nosed seven year old was walking along in a ManPoo kit on and nobody battered an eyelid. Ashamed to say, and never to my Uncle, but I walked away in disgust, got into my car and swore in peace.....never got out until I needed a piss.

First game at GP for Clive Thomas since, well you know what;)lolA young Andy Gray in a decent Villa team too:)

I'm sure the darkness got knocked out that day and it may have been Chelsea:) ? I have a memory late in the game when there was a stop in play for an injured player, and Billy Butler gave a score flash. Got a great cheer, wouldn't get away with it now.
ps I went to both those Utd games too, coach got bricked after the game. Gidman LOL.

Oh how i thought it was going to be a classic Everton side

Gordon Lee did an ok job for us - just a nearly. Manager like DM, but I thought the football played was better, more attacking etc! Great to see the likes of Trevor Ross and Dobson in a very good side - Dave Thomas The latch, and Andy king - mick Lyons etc all very good to watch again on how close that team came to honours! Duncan Mackensie was ace too!

Remember it well, someone who appeared to be drunk climbed to the top of one of the roof supports luckily didn't fall.Great win!
