Watches

Chose a Casio DW5600 as an XMas present from the in-laws. Ready to beat the shiz out of it at work, to save my mechanicals.

Catch my new single on BandCamp 'Catch me Quartzin': Save Your Mechanicals'...

A Bruce Lee watch? Let me guess, when you wear it, if gives you the 'Fist of Fury'? 🤔

Yes, it's meant to go in this thread...

No mention of the brand or style of watch in the article so I did some digging...

Yip, it was a bootleg Mickey & Minnie watch with, well, lets just say that the protagonist in the article, Will, has an 'eccentric' sense of humour. 😕

Anyway... Carrying on, there has to be more Crimbo pressie watches?! C'mon lads! Don't be shy! Post 'em!

I bought a Seiko kinetic in 1996, but over the next 20 years ended up spending more than a few quid getting it repaired, so it now sits in its box. Mate of mine recently bought a Seiko Captain Willard original. I baulked when I saw the cost, then he spent a good few bob getting it serviced or whatever.

I love the idea of the Captain Willard (big fan of the film) but it's very expensive for what it is. I got a used Seiko turtle off ebay and put it on a nato strap, job done.

Plus mine is much closer to the concept of what Captain Willard would have worn: a very reliable but cheap Seiko.

Me too. I see the reissue at £950 after discount from time to time on watcho.co.uk but as I am perennially skint can't see it happening any time soon. :(
