Watches

I used to be an 'auto' snob, but I realised that are not as accurate as a quartz, and don't require an expensive service!

Nice to have them though.
Until the battery goes flat! Precise accuracy to the second is less important for me in a watch anyway, very easy to adjust a minute here or there if the mechanical watch needs adjusting. For me it’s about a watch being something mechanical (including hand wound not just automatic). It’s a personal thing but quartz just don’t have the same appeal. You can pick up inexpensive mechanical watches so it’s not even a brand thing for me.

Still got all its condoms on (attack of the plastic, FFS). White dial? Yes, please.

SBDC171 (gimme dat JDM), the updated take on one of their classic divers, the '68 model 6105. Just need to remove all the protective film and size the band now.

"ANOTHER Seiko!?", I hear you say...yes, for same reason I'm a Toyota guy.

This one's become my ba'beh..probably 80% wrist time; so comfortable. The DiaShield coating is workin' a treat, too. Few scratches on the clasp, like you'd expect but otherwise spotless. Great purchase, IMHO.

Takes a few minutes to change a battery, which last at minimum several years, and cost at most a few quid.

Mechanical are nice to have, but I gave up insisting on them. I'd end up buying another watch for the price of a service.

Regarding quartz v mechanical - anyone unfamiliar with Seikos spring drive system which combines mechanical movement with quartz accuracy may find this interesting.
