Watches

Similarly I by chance looked at this watch below and thought that it looks really good and being a Casio, it can't be that expensive right?

£2300. Erm as much as I like it...that much for a casio? Does that make me a brand snob?
Forget the brand, for me the bigger issue is that it’s not a mechanical movement. OK it’s solar powered but in my mind it’s still a quartz movement.

I agree, the only quartz movements that are actually worth some $$ to produce that I've seen are the quartz movements in Grand Seiko, which are a work of art (if you haven't seen the video below, it's worth a view). I doubt Casio spends a lot of money on their movements in G-shocks as the watch is mostly about the casing/protection.

Forgot mine at home after taking it off for a shower this AM ( watch is 200M WR but don't want to get the leather strap soaked).

It was then that I realized how much I reference it every day and how much more convenient a simple flick of the wrist is to f'in around, looking for my stupid phone. As Cinderalla 🤢 once said:

There's better usage of flicking the wrist mate.

Nice...how long did it take to get the patina on the bronze CW? I've always considered a bronze watch but I can't decide if it would bother me once it gets a patina. They look great when shiny though.
Well, I worked at sea so used to bronze and brass being that way. I like patina on it. Mind you, my brother gave it to me recently, so it's not something I have had any part in.

The bronze is a heavy bugger, mind. Much heavier than the Aquaracer.

Bought ya this for Crimbo!

Enjoy...............

That's what I like, understated.. cool. None of this flash gear.

I do own a Breitling that my Grandad bought me about 15 years ago. Wore it once. It's in storage so if I kick the bucket and they do a UK version of storage wars someones gonna get a Commodore 64, 7 shuffle mags and a watch worth a good few k. And a chair and a chest of drawers. No need to be fussy about them. As soon as me and her split up I'm loading the commodore. I'll have met a bird and probably married her by the time a game loads but at least I'll be able to time it (and have something to pass the time weeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Alan's wife from Harrogate
