Introducing: The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono 'Cycling Edition'
The Tudor Pro Cycling Team takes on the Giro d'Italia with a new take on the carbon-clad FXD Chronograph.www.hodinkee.com
And, at least according the comments on Hodinkee, people seem to hate it. Not sure why, but that bodes well for snagging a used one.

Gotta be honest here pal … and I’m no expert at all… but that’s god damn ugly watch …. In my opinion only though. In my defence I bought a G shock watch a while ago as I thought I’d like it but I sent it back as I hated it, so maybe I’m just prejudicedCurrently sporting my G-Shock Rise man, complete with replacement strap that's the wrong colour.

Can't please everyone.Gotta be honest here pal … and I’m no expert at all… but that’s god damn ugly watch …. In my opinion only though. In my defence I bought a G shock watch a while ago as I thought I’d like it but I sent it back as I hated it, so maybe I’m just prejudiced
Apologies mate, I should have worded my post differently. The watch is simply not to my taste. Can't please everyone.
They are very much watches of the Marmite variety. I quite like them,I've got a few,a couple are atomic solar models ideal for checking mechanical watches time keeping. There's an interesting video on YouTube of a bloke trying to destroy one. Probably what's made them popular with the emergency services and military.Apologies mate, I should have worded my post differently. The watch is simply not to my taste.
After losing my omega at sea, I went to G-shocks, and an auto Seiko. They are very much watches of the Marmite variety. I think for me personally it was the aesthetic of it. It just looked and felt huge on my wrist which I found weird. No doubt the watches are fantastic though, just too chunky for me so I settled on my boring Garmin solar. As you can tell, I’m no watch enthusiastThey are very much watches of the Marmite variety. I'll try to find the link to the video. As you say they are impervious to virtually every trial you put them through. If I remember correctly the bloke ended up shooting his and it still worked. After losing my omega at sea, I went to G-shocks, and an auto Seiko.
I do love em. Zero concerns about breaking it. This one was battered at sea, salt water, thrust into hydraulics getting bashed, etc.
Useful for my trips into the mountains when no internet as has barometer.
Most of the latest models as you say are on the large size. Garmin seem to be the choice of athletes. I've a couple of friends who are keen cyclists and wouldn't wear any else.I think for me personally it was the aesthetic of it. It just looked and felt huge on my wrist which I found weird. At 48 I’m no longer what you’d class as an athlete… but the Garmin is great for when I occasionally go for a run, when I ride my bike, and for when I go walking/hiking. So easy to use and sync with my phone so all my activities are tracked with Strava. Most of the latest models as you say are on the large size. Garmin seem to be the choice of athletes. There are some comically massive ones, but this particular one is smaller than the Casioak posted earlier. It's by no means massive.I think for me personally it was the aesthetic of it. I've had G Shocks for years. First one was from 1997-98 or so. Had a secondary velcro strap with it. Absolutely bomb proof.Currently sporting my G-Shock Rise man, complete with replacement strap that's the wrong colour.
