Really like the look of this one. What’s the model name/number?

SPB339...only 500 pieces (pretty rare by Seiko standards) so good luck. There's actually one up for grabs on ebay right now that's been f'ing with my head. Found a local dealer who's got one of these though so I might make an oopsie and marry it instead.

Tag F1? the movement literally costs £20. I paid £1500 and it's essentially worthless - have a look on chrono24, there's loads on there for sale.

I think he'd like something that people notice, hence the Tag idea. But personally I'd rather spend the money on a Seiko or similar..

This is the Tag I've got.

wouldnt recommend it - cheap quartz movement, the hand on the Chronograph has just kind of drifted from the top, which is grinding my OCD! Bought it from Goldsmiths after getting my money back on a Mont Blanc from an awful company called CW Sellors (long story)

I'd have a look on there, it's like eBay for watches, some real bargains. I had a couple of old Omega's and Rado's I sold on there. Try and stick to automatics - and you'll get loads more for your money second hand.

2-3 years a go, those F1's were £1100 brand new. They are no way worth £1500 new now, like you said. Quartz!
