Watches

No idea where they're displaying the time, unless I'm just having a brain fart...if it's similar to this one below then the clock is an afterthought IMO and all it's about the automaton portion. Cool, nonetheless as it's still delving into mechanical nerdery.

I agree. I think they explain the time better here. Defo not practical, but the mechanical nerdery (<--gonna borrow that) is what amazes me. It's also a bit too gaudy for my tastes, but like a perpetual calendar, one can marvel that--at base--it's all gears and springs that can create and keep track of all those functions and movements.

Got a craving for a black watch and being drawn to the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic.
Think I prefer ceramic over PVD.

That is super handsome. I like that fact that it is highly legible, despite the fact that it is one of the "black-themed" styles. Some companies make the black-themed watches but everything is darkened and it's simply impractical to read, as if you're doing a stealth special-ops and require darkened hands, hour-markers, and no lume.

Anyways, that looks terrific!

I hate this hobby as every time I think I've seen all the watches I need to see, I discover a new one. My latest (needless) obsession is with the Minase Horizon 2.0, which has an upgraded movement. But Minase is all about styling and design, not about movement. The more I read, the more I (needlessly) want the black/blue dial on bracelet:

Aww, c'mon...so many sparkles. ?‍♀️?

Thank you for contacting Watchaholics Anonymous; we can't come to the computer right now, Breguet's released a new GMT and we're currently planning our bank heist on a secondary PC.

As a temporary solution, we suggest placing your wallet in the nearest volcano.

Looks great, Ceramic will probably offer greater scratch resistance than PVD. I have read that ceramic cases have a risk of chipping or cracking which puts me off a little.

New Lum-Tec arrived...quality. Damn camera focused on the box instead of the dial due to lighting I suppose. Will get sunlight photo tomorrow.

I've decided I'm going to treat myself to a new watch after the summer.. The question is do I splash out a bit and spend £3-4k on one, or buy a few cheaper £3-500 watches that I've had my eye on for ages.?

Either Breitling/Tudor etc.. (any other options?)

Or a couple of other watches I have on my list, like Seiko/Casio types..

I tend to look at watches around 43-45mm as I have big wrists..

The good thing is you're not in a rush...plenty of time to decide. Main thing is spend it wisely but everyone's got differing opinions on what that means. You're highly unlikely to make a return on a single watch in the3-4k range, sadly...so go on a run of 3-4 quality 700-1k pieces, I say.

I want a dress watch for my collection. So a leather strap something I think. Also more daily wearers really.

I've liked this for a long time.

But in the cheaper budgets. My want list includes..

I wanna give a Spinnaker a try too..
