It's taboo on here to say such usually, but I'm sure apathy is spreading throughout the fanbase, especially the lids who travel a long way.
I'm sure some ST holders wouldn't have gone to a few if they hadn't already paid in advance too ?
The social aspect of the match, especially meeting friends before and afterwards for a few pints, is the main reason I've kept going regardless.
It is fair to say though that this season the ninety minutes or so of football we've had to endure each time has been the worst part of it.
In fact it's almost become forgettable. I was totally apathetic after Arsenal; we simply shrugged and carried on drinking with little annoyance.
People my sneer but so what - maybe it's because I'm getting older but I've not felt like this in a long time and neither have many fellow Blues.
I read the remarks of the football being more enjoying and laugh as going to Goodison has in the mainstay stopped becoming enjoyable.
Away from home then yes it has certainly had some great moments, but at home it's been dire. Maybe people see it different on TV...
The away matches are much the same. I go primarily because I enjoy the people I go with and it's a day out; the football can multiply the fun.
I'm meant to be going to Watford tomorrow but I have serious doubts. As a glutton for punishment I probably still will, but my head is saying no.
So back to a prediction... I'm thinking a dogged draw along the lines of 1-1.
