Wayne rooney - the manager

No idea if he did or didnt mate.

But Derby are still not paying players/paying them late, there was a buy out that fell through, and now a weird new one in play. Clubs a mess.

All that is understandable and possibly why they couldn't sack him and hire someone else when they were still right in the danger. Of course we'll never know what he asked for and didn't get but players like Branthwaite and Gordon didn't cost Blackburn and Preston a great deal, utd probably have loads of kids he could have had next to nothing just to give them experience. Gerrard and Lampard both seemed proactive in that department.

I think that the club sale was in play when he took the manager job, with the attendant assurances he was no doubt given then. That evaporated, and the cupboard was bare.

I have no idea if he will make it as a boss, (wouldnt bet against it mind), but he was sold an absolute pup at Derby.

He's gonna be bigger than big Nev. He must just eat bars of chocolate and buckets of fried chicken.

....he’s actually very fit. The family are big framed and strong, particularly the Mum’s side. I used to play against his uncle, a very decent striker but he was strong as bull and it genuinely hurt when you bumped into him.

i don’t want to sound unkind, but his really is a rags to riches story. I’m actually delighted for him.

Meanwhile over at Derby. Looks like the last day Houdini heroics may have a final act to play out.

That new owner isnt all he trys to make out neither. Apparently.

I dont know 100%, but from what I picked up, apparently he is a Far Right loon, who has had his assets frozen in Italy or Spain. That was on Sunday. Then today, different writer and paper, there are "serious doubts" the deal will be secured.

edit. See The Metro mention it as well.

The plot thickens. Derby have sailed close to the wind on this matter. It's like a pantomime show over there. A club with an excellent ground and some great history just can't break free of these regular downturns and potential financial disasters.
