His performances aren’t worthy of what we’re paying him. Not by a long shot. Yes he is still capable of producing some good moments but they become less and less and we can’t afford to carry him.

Sigurdsson is a far better option. Fair enough if people want to see Rooney stay but I’d like to think if we’re paying someone £100k+ that they’d be a guaranteed starter for us and Rooney certainly shouldn’t be.

Well.... is he going to wait 10-14 days before a manger is hired before he lets DC utd know what hes doing ?

His legs has gone when he was at the mancs. He’s not worth £8m a year to be a bit part player. And he’s nowhere near good enough to play a major role. We’ll have less games next season as well.

I hope he goes and if we get a fee for him all the better.

Why does everyone think he is finished? He struggles in a 4-3-3, but I believe would flourish in a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. He is a striker, but cannot play up top on his own. With a partner, he would flourish. He always had a partner at Man U. Van Nistelrooy, Berbatov, Van Persie, Tevez, Owen, Zaha. He is one year older than Jamie Vardy for Christ's sake. Why don't we set up to get the best out of him, rather than persisting with a system that gave us one good season under Martinez. ..

Not sure what Vardy has to do with this. Rooney started playing top flight football at 16/17 and as a result he’s knackered.
Vardy (at least for now) hasn’t lost any pace. Rooney can hardly run anymore.

Why's he a poison apple? Because his legs have gone?

He's just that type of player if he aint playing he starts stinking the gaff out - look at how he's been acting lately over this DC United move - throwing his arms out threatening to leave and stropping when being subbed, he done the same at Utd all the time to get a new mega contract.

The new manager needs a full backing from the players and the likes of Mirallas and Rooney need removing as quickly as possible.

I mentioned Vardy because in the transfer thread people are advocating spending 25 million on him and he is a similar age and would command similar wage.

Leicester finished below us in the table despite Vardy scoring double the goals Rooney, but could one of the reasons we amassed more points than Leicester be because we have England's most decorated, experienced winner in our dressing room to pull the other lads through the season despite being subjected to the most archaic, boring anti football management ever to grace the school of science?

Ever think that he acts this way because he actually gives a [Poor language removed] and wants to win for Everton?

This is true to be fair. For the money we pay Rooney, he should be an indispensable member of the team. And that's not what Rooney is.

Nah he left too early and returned too late. Legs have gone and wont do anything in a Silva/Fonesca/Emery style midfield and isnt good enough up front anymore.

He's one of about 10 that need peddling this summer.

He is not a midfielder and has not played enough up front in a 2 this season (or at all) to come to the conclusion that he isn't good enough. He was certainly good enough to score from within his own half this season.
