What burns me up is that the whole he's a blue, loves Everton etc etc blah blah has been shown up as bilge. He expects to be a starter no matter what; how the hell does he reckon that? He can't accept what all of us have to accept, the encroach of time on our abilities. Does he act in the interests of his boyhood club? Like buggery he does. He does what he bloody well wants. Get out and stay out.

And gets paid £150k a week from his boyhood club. (I read yesterday than United top that up as well, which implies he wouldn’t take a pay cut to join the club he loves).

This really. No longer good enough to lead the line alone and no longer quick enough on the ball to play midfield. We should be looking to get shut at all costs. Thought him coming back would heal old wounds, turns out i still can't stand him. Enjoy your millions in America, Wayne. You won't be missed.

He didn't take a pay cut like some soppy fans would have you believe, Utd just pick up half the tab.

If he had to genuinely take a pay cut no way would he have turned up here, it's all about the money with him

I have seen people pointing out that Rooney was good until about December and poor afterwards.
Just maybe it was the arrival of Sam and his tactics which resulted in the downturn in form... and the possible move to the USA.

Personally, I think that maybe Rooney realises himself that his best days are long gone and time has come to leave the premiership.
If he were to stay I think it may involve some kind of coaching or managerial role going forward.

Allardyce slowed the play down all round.

This is like losing Lukaku - the one player who was actually banging goals in.

If he wants to stay another year it’s a no brainer.

Haha comparing Rooney leaving to losing lukaku.

If it’s about losing our “one player who was actually banging goals in” this season, then Oumar says hello. Rooney only outscored him due to taking penalties which he more often than not missed. If tosun had had a full season, he was also on course to out score him. Niasse almost certainly would have given the same amount of games and minutes as rooney.

If the manager is Silva then I cannot see how rooney would fit into his team. Silva plays an aggressive high press and likes players with pace to launch quick strike counter attacks. I have nothing against him but hes not good enough for the level we want to be at anymore. And for those saying he was good before sam arrived, I would remind you that even in the beginning of the season he was terrible from open play. He banged some big goals in but still created nothing. Look back at the comments, even in the games he scored, he still received a low rating.

Rooney has to stay, it's a no brainier...

10-15 goals a season,experience,captain,influence,assists...

Scores from 50 yards & is a boyhood Evertonian...

It will depend on who the Manager is...
