It doesn't please me to say this, but rooney has been 'done' for a long time now, I'd say as long as 6-7 years ago. My in-laws are all dyed in the wool man u fans, and had been complaining about him for years. he shouldn't even be on the bench next season if he stays, which is why we should be off-loading him as soon as the first offer comes in for him.

It's a £12M deal - not a £12M transfer fee. Take paying up Rooney's contract, his signing fee and his agents money and all other related fees and that's where the £12M is.

The best financial deal possible for Everton would be him going on a free and Everton not having to continue to pay him a percentage of "lost earnings". No way is there £12M going into the clubs bank or transfer kitty.

You seem to know all about it mate, i haven't seen the deal like you i am speculating on what was reported id let him of aon free myself and bite their hand off for any profit, if you know the intimate detail of the deal sure everyone would love to know?

Haha comparing Rooney leaving to losing lukaku.

If it’s about losing our “one player who was actually banging goals in” this season, then Oumar says hello. Rooney only outscored him due to taking penalties which he more often than not missed. If tosun had had a full season, he was also on course to out score him. Niasse almost certainly would have given the same amount of games and minutes as rooney.

My point was about letting a player go who has been scoring goals.

I would not let my top goal scorer leave if they didn't want to leave and certainly not if I was looking at the unbelievable list of utter dross currently in our squad who have done nothing all season.

Here's me forgetting, also, that Niasse would never miss a penalty in his life and that Tosun has been convincing every game. Jeezus.

We won't win the league next season. We need to build on what has been an appalling year and that will mean a year or two to get a good squad together and playing well. So, whilst that's happening, why would you get rid of a player that can bag you goals?

The same 6 years ago when he scored 35 goals in a season?

ok mate

Baines or Siggy or even Tosun could have bagged those penalties. Every time Rooney steps up to one I expect him to miss to be honest.

If the new managers assures him of starting more games than not in a preferred position, then he stays.

Can you add a poll in this thread to reflect the sentiment of Rooney leaving?

I’m sure we all know the outcome but let’s have some figure to show.

What would you like the poll question to be?

Tricky, as whether fans want him to stay is one question, whether they want him to stay as a regular starter (the only feasible option really) is another

just a simple keep or sell?
I think this is enough to reflect if he’s good enough to contribute or move on

Somewhat productive this season too, his struggles were largely lost in the general mire of the year.

MLS is a soft landing for him, he'll get a chance to continue his football and Everton won't have to grow tired/angry over one of the club's greatest products.

This. Rooney can still have a part to play for us as a sub and part time starter. He can score and is still technically gifted and creative. He just can't be expected to play 90 minutes. Even 60. And certainly not as a center mid

He hasn’t scored in 2018. Hardly a player who can ‘bag you goals’ is he?

Not a clue on the intimate details but if Rooney hasn't put in a transfer request and has a year left on a £150,000 per week deal then that's around the £8M mark. Add agents fees and signing on fees, which are always part of the headline figure, then £12M doesn't leave much change.

Please don’t compare rooney, tosun and siggy to mane, salah and firminho. It’s laughable. They break with pace and skill, whereas with that front 3 for us, the defence could have a cup of tea before stopping them.

If anything, it should be lookman, tosun and Walcott as a front 3 to compare with Liverpool. With siggy behind and then 2 cms, Gana and whoever else.

I didn't compare I said they have a front 3 why can't we have a front 2 if you read it
