I’m not really bothered by Wayne. He came here with good intentions- he just isn’t the saint Wayne of Blue that some made him out to be. I’m more annoyed that Koeman/Walsh/Bill thought it was a good idea to sign him. Can we move this to World Football yet?

The good thing is he was told (like I’m sure others were) at the end of last season that he wasn’t a part of this seasons plans and we’ve moved him on. No sentiment needed here, however if he does come back as a coach, I think it’s something we should embrace.

I don’t blame him for going to united and I don’t begrudge him the success he had, but I don’t forgive him for walking out on us.

I don’t think anyone canonised him, it was more empathy that he is obviously a fellow blue. His run in with that tart at the bar and his drink driving is just his form and given he’s a spent force, we don’t need all that

is that the only 2 options? really angry and pleased?

What are your thoughts on the matter?

I will go first, he left the club as a young lad, to win trophies and grow his career, he did what was best for Wayne Rooney, he came back, performed for 6months, then a combination of age and club turmoil made him less effective, so Everton did what was best for Everton.

Im neither angry or pleased, im just relieved I suppose.

Pretty much my thoughts too.

I can understand that a lot of people got p***ed off with his badge kissing when he scored against us, but he was still a kid and it was a long time ago. It seems some people are still angry about that.

Far more annoyed at his drunk driving the very first international break myself rather than some daft badge kissing as a teenager.

It peed me off, im not gonna lie, his leaving peed me off, but im not a 12 year old girl, I can forgive, I know what the footy is all about, I was glad we got him back, it was a nice boost for the club, IMO, it gave some of the younger lads some valuable knowledge, something to aspire to.

Im glad hes peed off with his exit, if hes not a 12 year old girl, he will forgive us in time and realise it was just the footy.

My comment was referring to anger regarding his pretty ridiculous and entitled comments made in his recent interview, not about what happened over a decade ago. I think we have every right to not be happy with that.

He's not even starting here.

Ffs.

Yanks out or something, not fit enough for 90 mins in the MLS ? Kinell, that's like not starting for Cowdenbeath.

Sky referring to him as the “former Manchester United and England striker” at the top of their MLS coverage last night. Typical of them.
