Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Oh ffs. What does Koeman see in him that we don't? The fact of the matter is he's finished at this level - his legs and his explosive pace have gone, and a transfer isn't going to bring them back. Do we really want to be taking the deadwood of a club just 1 place above us in the league if we're trying to really kick on?

I bet you a million quid we wouldn't even be talking about this if he didn't play for us before.
What does RK see in the player that the ordinary fan on the terraces can't see ?
This may seem strange, I think I will back the judgement of RK.

When you talk about taking the deadwood from a club just one place above us are you talking about Schneiderlin?

I can't figure out if your standards are incredibly high or low.

he may be 31 but he has the physique of a 41 yr old darts player and more miles on the clock than a 1990 ford escort. his past goalscoring record has nothing to do with it.

I agree with most he has a year or 2 left. Purely on that basis I wouldn't have a problem with him coming back on a 1 or 2 year deal.

My problem is we will probably offer him a long term deal on massive wages and it would affect other incomings.

I guess I would take him as a squad option his experience would add something but he would want ridiculous wages and his legs have gone.

What he's achieved over his career is fantastic but that doesn't change how awful he's looked this season.

Lads, the last truly great team we had was full of so called 'has-been' players? Zlatan has been a better player than Pogba or Mykhitarian or anyone else Utd bought. Peter Reid and Andy Gray were being swerved by every club in the land when Howard bought them, and they became the bedrock of a team that creamed everybody! Our opinion is valid as fans, but we tend to see the star players and think they are all you need, but a top performing team is an intricate mixture of skillsets and mindsets, Rooney has a certain mindset that we are woefully short of at the moment. If Koeman and Walsh have identified him as a required piece in the jigsaw then we just need to sit back and see if it works.

People saying we have to have players from top clubs if we want to kick on out to look at Deli Alli, he came from MK Dons?
