I think him being hungry is half the problem mate.i really think we should sign rooney, he is not finished and comfortably better than most off are attacking options his experience will be massive, and if he wasnt hungry he would go to china etc
haha fair enoughI think him being hungry is half the problem mate.
I feel you are right unfortunately! All players like to feel wanted, to want to be central to whatever is happening.
It gives them confidence and a desire to do well.
Rooney has been isolated at Utd this season, he has only come into the team because of injury and even then he has been shunted out wide.
I still believe he has a lot to offer, I think he would be ideal in the no. 10 role and I think part of the problem with Barkley is that he may think that Rooney will take his preferred position next season.
Joey.I feel you are right unfortunately!
Totally disagree. Don't know what Evertonians on this forum get out of suggesting he's finished. It's not accurate or fair.
He has had injury issues this season that is all. He is still class. He'd be our best passer comfortably.
Turned it off after "assist 1" to Jesse Lingard 40 yards from goal who proceeded to dribble past 4 defenders
In bold a necessity in the prem!Joey.
If Rooney does arrive I think people will be surprised by how much he has still left in the tank.
I agree that he is not the player he was five years ago , but Rooney was never just about pace and power alone, even in his prime.
He was a proper footballer, very aware, very clever...always a team player sometimes to the detriment of his own game.
Because of the reported possibility of him coming back to Everton I have recently watched him in a couple of Utd games.... shunted out onto the wing, he still tried his best and still worked for the team, ironically still managing to score goals in a Utd team that were moderate at best.
He may have lost a yard or two of pace but not his craft or intelligence. He is certainly capable of chipping in with over ten goals in a full season.
I think as well his pride has been hurt by his exclusion at Utd this season and his sudden omission from the international set -up so quickly.
Coming back to Everton would add that extra motivation for him to prove that he still can be a top player.
I still believe that money is the stumbling block and there is no way Stretford will want him back at Everton and losing out on millions.
Skip to 'assist 5' on about 2 mins and laugh your head off like I did.
There's a big difference between Everton 'going for' a transfer target, and them actually being in our squad come the new season. So, on a day when were linked with Iheanacho from Man City and have numerous other options available to be signed, you'd go for Rooney?
Because he's slow and crapRooney is a no brainer. He brings experience, he brings star power that can help attract other players, and he's a leader with a winning mentality. How people don't want him back is baffling.
