Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

He'll earn 25 million a year ...of course he will go. I expect all the world's top players to play in the China League within a decade. Money dictates it. Similarly I expect broadcast money in PL, la Liga etc to go down significantly as the whole world watches their team in China

Take it you have missed the new Chinese rule on 100% tax payments on foreign player purchases.

I had.

I agree.
Massive move for a young family that.
Different world money wise though.

My Mrs would be packing me bags herself and putting me in the taxi on me own for £500k a week like.

Yeah, but when you've already got the best part of £100M there's more to life......

China has printed 20 trillion dollars since the GFC ...you could tax purchases at 1000% and it won't matter. Now, if they had to front up with payments made in gold, it would stop it overnight

Folk of our vintage would concur. But a 31 year old, no matter what his bank balance and presumably other assets look like, the reality is that in 2 years, maybe 3, he potentially, wont earn another bean. (obviously he will, but nowhere near the levels he is used to)

Not a clue what that all means. Just read some stuff here, yeah, I know, that suggested the days of mega deals for foreign imports into the Chinese league aint as straight forward as it was.

Has nobody considered that he may want to play for England in 2018? A move anywhere outside the top leagues will scupper that.

When it comes to money, there is no such thing as too much. Our generation is creating wealth not just for our children but our great great great grandchildren. This is the last opportunity to look after our family line , our children and theirs will find the world a much harder place. We must earn as much money now, and buy land...lots and lots of land.
If Rooney turns down China, he is letting his family line down egregiously

He'd be kissing his england career goodbye. Still can't see him going to China, USA perhaps.

Whatever I'll be glad when this Summer is over, he'll either be here or that will be it and we can close this long running saga of will he/won't he.

Speaking of which, better take a look at the latest in the Ross thread! :p

He could get a job as a doorman at a casino.

'Has anyone seen Wazza?

'Said summat about betting on red...then disappeared!'

That's right mate, Dolberg is a flop because he didn't deliver in one game.
I wouldn't say that, you can't judge a player on 1 performance. But it does show how difficult it is to predict how well someone from a weaker league will cope with the demands of the premier league and playing against top opposition.
