Why on earth are we looking at a washed up has been? I thought our days of signing players that are not good enough for united were over

We don't owe this fella a pension top up. He left, had a fantastic career and now is past it and we could potentially hand him a 3 year deal. As he certainly won't except a 1 or 2 year deal.
Takes the edge massively off the new Sexy FC for me.
