Yep it's had to know for sure. But decent signs that today. Some cracking passes he sprayed around and can't really point that down to adrenaline.

His movement to get into the positions to make those passes were greatly improved from anything we've seen from him in recent years.

So either he relaxed after his goal and his natural game came back, or he just had a one off blinder of a game. I'm hoping it's the former.

I think some have underestimated how good that header was too. Had to really throw every neck muscle into it, got plenty behind it, and sent it back across the keeper.

I've criticised him because he'd been disappointing but if he performs close to those levels then no issues. Hopefully it's not a one off.

He is the first to admit he needs to play every game.If he plays he is fitter and better.

The best thing was Rooney scoring today as he now doesn't need to try so hard for his first goal back in a blue shirt.

He can relax and play his best football and goals will naturally happen.

You no what there was more pressure on him today then anyone, and he came good, cant wait now for Thursday

i get what you mean about the pressure thing but he's played for us before, he's played in a few of the biggest games in club soccerball, so yeah he'll want to get off to a good one but this guy knows football, this fella can run big big games. He has, I reckon, at least 3 good seasons ahead of him. Wjat we have given him back is the enjoyment of the game. Man United was work, this is the game. We'll see a rejuvenated fat lad again.

Delighted he's got an early goal, as in the last couple of games he looked to be trying too hard to make the magical moment happen. Hopefully it'll be a weight off his shoulders now and allow him to relax a bit more.

Totally different player after the goal, definitely more relaxed and not trying to force things or get as frustrated. Helped by the tactical change no doubt, but I think it was a weight lifted off his shoulders.

I was all against him returning but if he keeps playing like he did the 2nd half, I will be delighted.

Do you know who would have benefited for having a top class 10 playing passes in like that one in to Calvert Lewin today?

Lukaku.

Was saying that to my bro earlier... should have paid a decent fee and signed him 2 years ago if we could have got him... lukaku would be perfect for him

Nah, we weren't ready, neither was he, we didn't have the money.

Hopefully it continues like this because there was something very old school in the crowd reaction today.
