handing in a transfer request a few days before the window shut tp force the deal - he did us up like Kiippers

Yeah funny that Wayne did that. I'm sure Bill was gutted he coudn't give the money to Moyes to spend. Fortunately there were some loans to be paid off.

...but Le Tissier wasted his talent and showed no ambition. Should have played on a bigger stage

Why?

He kept the club that brought him through and showed faith in him, in the premier league almost single handedly for years and was loved unconditionally by the fans in return. That's a better career than most. I have nothing but respect for one club men at less successful clubs like Le Tis or Finney.

Wouldn't winning a single league cup with Everton mean more than 8 champions leagues with Real Madrid?

Haha quality :)

He's a complete tool. But like leon I no longer care. All I care about is that he never plays for Everton again. I'd rather have Steven Gerrard at Everton than Rooney. At least he'd be honest about why he was there.

"Man Utd was the only club I'd have left Everton for"... behave you muppet.

this rates as one of the worst posts i`ve ever seen- behave lad. youll regret the stevie g comment when you cool down, its only 6yrs since the boy left so give it another 6 and you mightve moved on by then. btw- no offense meant

Guess it depends on how you measure success

It does.

Neither Finney or Le Tissier ever won anythng, they're probably the two best players to never win a trophy. But they built a legend, they earned a lot of love and they'll be remembered fondly for years, long after players like Pegguy Arphexad or Alexander Hleb who won trophies on the benches of successful teams have been forgotten.

But Rooney is not sat on the bench, has won all sorts, one of best players in the world. Le Tis happy to be a big fish in a small pond.

Try channelling you Bill anger into Tim Howard anger mate - far healthier find!

I can guarantee you I won't regret the Gerrard comment. I have the capability of putting down the blue-tinted spectacles. Gerrard has been a fantastic servant to Liverpool through the rough and the smooth, and any club he joins after Liverpool will be what it is - a move away from the place he belongs.

I would not welcome Rooney back at Goodison at any point. We're not a stepping stone for him in his "Gazza" years. He's quite simply burned his bridges.

Gravesen did it the right way. He left for Real Madrid, everyone understood why, and he was welcomed back. Why? Because he was honest about it, and didn't **** of the club or it's fans. He went to a bigger club for the money and prestige - simple.

If you seriously want fat past-it Rooney back here at the age of 32-34, I pity you, as you have no respect for our club, it's size and it's tradition.

The only thing I'm grateful about Rooney is the £27m. But he didn't leave to "do us a favour".

thanks anyway, but i dont need your pity. you are of course entitled to your opinion

Precisely this.

Le Tissier was a big fish in a small pond.

If Saturday is anything to go by, Wayne Rooney is a whale in a swimming pool.
