"We are going to the big teams to win"

Moyes would still have failed to win the game there though.

Against his own team?

We scored 4 against a far better United side in a game that effectively denied United the title in 2012. It wasn't exactly lying down and having your tummy tickled.

We're developing from the hard-to-beat never gives challengers of Moyes side to the expressive Champions League regulars of Martinez. There will be a spell of fantastic results and football and results before the seasons out but it's becoming obvious this is a transitional year of actual progress and that will make it too hard to break into the Champions League THIS SEASON it is a bright future ahead though you can bookmark me on this.

And there was a good reason for that.

It was the week after the Wembley fiasco, which itself came hard on the heels of the Anfield surrender......he could do nothing less than send them out to give it their all.

That was very atypical of Everton at OT under Moyes.

Martinez is ace, his change of style is fairly ace, some of our play is out of this world, but his record against the top clubs is currently second worst in the league. That's not ace.

Ironically the big away game we won was the game (anfield excluded) where I thought we played the worse. They should have been 2-0 up before we scored.

We played 100x better at the Emirates but only got a draw

I was gutted yesterday and against Spurs away as we definitely didn't get what we deserved. However we don't really create chances in the box playing away at the bigger clubs as most of them seem to be shots from the edge of the area and mainly falling to Osman who has been unlucky with his attempts on goal. At Arsenal we played well and passed them off the pitch in the 1st half but when we attacked them the moves tended to break down on the edge of the box and yesterday wasn't a lot different in that respect.
Looking to the game at Arsenal in the cup, is the same thing going to happen? We dominate possession but unluckily get beat. We need both Lukaku and Barkley linking up and playing well if we want to go there and get a win or a draw but one hasn't played for weeks and the other is struggling after an injury. We have come a long way already this season under RM playing good football and in a position in the league most blues wouldn't have predicted back in August. I just hope that the board recognise that they have a chance to put this club into the mix with the top clubs by buying a quality CF or 2 in the summer and maybe games against these teams will start to go our way. These clubs will buy big again and if we don't then as supporters how can we really expect our club to compete when it comes down to the business end of the season?

we've shown unless we sign another top striker, we cant compete in these games.....with lukaku we can get a result, without him we can't.....

it'll be the exact same next season....if bill doesn't invest, it doesn't matter what Martinez does....

we need two top strikers in the summer, anything less is a waste of time...

That.

Anybody think of a world-class striker getting splinters on his bum on a bench somewhere who would rather be leading an attack for an otherwise CL-quality side?
