We have to get back to a four man defence

Yet could have conceded an additional 3 goals today through mistakes caused solely by him

Play to his strengths: 4 at the back and allow him to build a partnership with another CB.

I really couldn't give a flying one about Coady and his preferences. If he cant do 4 at the back then bench him. He's a nothing player anyway.

Unreal criticism of a player who has obviously provided some backbone in that defence repelling balls into the box.

Mad that, because played absolutely sound in the last 2 games in a back 3 and was probably man of the match

He had a poor game today, especially in the first half an almost cost us 3 goals

Nobody is giving him criticism, they’ve clearly said he had a poor game, which he did.

Repelling balls into the box…

it’s the most basic of basics.

Positioning, reading of the game, knowing when to drop, when to hold the line. I suppose that’s how poor we are, but there’s so much more to defending than that.

we’ve reverted to the most agricultural of methods.

I'm telling you why he may make mistakes, you're telling me he made mistakes. Therein lies the difference.

lol

Not at this football club.

...and how is that hindrance? We stick with a system because it suits a junior player in the squad? That's just barmy.
Just an observation, Paterson won't be playing in a back 4, we'd have to use Coleman or Holgate, neither ideal really.
