We have to get back to a four man defence

Yeah mate do us all a favour and take a day, maybe two, maybe 365 days off. You're a troll of the highest level antagonising other fans of the club you claim to support. Learn how to have a bit of respect for others here or [Poor language removed]. You'd fit right in on the rs forums. Wang
You have just lit a blue fuse … stand back

Doucoure drifted over there because Patterson had been drawn out to Koulibaly.

The defence are at sixes and sevens playing this system. You get away with it against teams that cant be patient and and wait for the killer pass, but not there yesterday.
That is how the system works though and Chelsea played it well in that situation bringing the LCB forward as the extra man. I thought we played well against a tough team that is more familiar with this system and man for man have a better squad. We defended a million set pieces well for a change and lost to a pen, not bad, all things considered including key injuries.
Weren't we 4 atb in our biggest hammerings last season?

Koulibaly was McNeil's man, and he was on his way out to him before Patterson rushed out.

I don't think the players we have are good enough to play on the front foot in this system.

Unless Onana is something special on the ball, it will always result in conceding midfield.

Do you think we have the players who are good enough to play on the front foot in any system mate?

I'd say we'd have a better chance if we could add a body in midfield and get them closer to the forwards.

I worry about our back 4 mate. I'm also not sure we have a player who is good enough to play as a 6. People may say Gana, and Gana does lots of things very well, but he's not a classical disciplined 6 IMO.

If we get the players in to play 3/5 at the back I am all for it. But impossible with the likes of Keane and Holgate. Championship standard the pair of them. Plus IMO Mina is finished

Well if you want Frank, you will have to deal with his preferred formation that he used with Chelsea and they still still use, the 5-2-3 or 3-4-3.
Lampard didn't use either of those that much at Chelsea. Tuchel got the success by switching to 343.

Lampard does however like 343 because he likes the build up ability it gives, and honestly I think we played it well yesterday. We just didn't have any firepower up top.

We need to be able to play 433 too but we need midfielders for that. Thankfully they're coming in.

It's a fair argument, but I don't believe that the answer to four poor defenders is five of them.

Tarkowski is a decent player, good enough to lead Holgate the same way Stubbs did Weir and Yobo, and Mykolenko is more of a full-back than a wing-back anyway. Right-back is an issue, but that's been the case since Coleman broke his leg five years ago, so nothing new there.

I'm not a big fan of Gana, but maybe Onana will be able to get on the ball and make things happen (I don't know anything about him), and while Iwobi doesn't have a lot to his game, he does play with his head up and can recycle the ball well enough.

That said, I'm expecting Iwobi to switch to RWB when Onana and Gana come in, with Coady slotting in alongside Tarkowski and Holgate/Keane. To me, this is recipe for inviting pressure, and counter-productive against teams that will stand off us before playing their way into it (eg Wolves at home last season).
