He was a wide forward mate in a struggling team who was able to play up front and kept us up, for that he was a good player levels above anyone we have now

Realistically we can’t buy “quality”, we have to build them up and make them quality ourselves.

Buying “Quality”, often means buying someone established who’s usually at the top of their game, like Sigurdsson, Bolasie.

How hard is it to go to South America and sign cheaper talent, who can make an impact? Scour the lesser leagues like lots do, to find their gems like Leeds did with Gnonto or Brentford and Brighton regularly do.

We’re reactive instead of proactive and you can’t do that in this division.

Haven't even done that though I can only think of Kean as a young striker we bought and tried to develop another was a wide forward like Lookman for me neither were given enough minutes but also both didn't show enough at times. It's tough in a way as someone else said our club is unforgiving on youngsters, Dom is the only one who was played and played until he came through. There's Simms now too although we got him from city as a younger prospect. We also don't have a club we can farm them out to on loan.

Reports I’ve read said he would’ve joined but we couldn’t agree a deal with Villa. Doesn’t matter now, but he’d have been a difference maker.

He was good for us because we have such a low standard, right now he seems to be doing worse for Spurs, high standards, then Maupay is doing for us

We sold our top goal scorer and replaced him with a worse player, who scores less goals. On top of this, we have lost the players with the most assists in recent times. Digne, James, Richarlison and the disgraced one, were responsible for a large % of the chances we have created in recent seasons. We already didn’t score enough goals, to have not replaced the creators and goalscorers from the last few seasons is beyond shocking. If we do go down, those behind our ‘strategy’ will be permanently remembered as imbeciles. How can you get rid of Lookman, and eventually get Iwobi and McNeil, both for much more £? Maybe the board don’t understand that you need goals to win games?!
