We need a ' Hard-Case ' !!

someone mentioned osman the other day as being our `hatchet man` and i think theyve got a point, example- a few years ago he went up for a ball against kirkland and hypia on the edge of the area gwladys st end, now those guys are maybe 6ft2 or more each but ozzie wiped them both out, well liverpool got the foul anyway but you get my point. ozzie in.

Or when he beat Kompany in the air and scored that beauty of a header.

Someone like Axel Witsel would be mighty fine(awaits January whilst imbibing crack pipe)

We don't need a hardman but we do need to stand up for ourselves more.

Not in a kick the opposition way but in a shouting at officals when things don't go our way way.

Sure, its fine to talk about winning the right way and acting with respect, but if most other teams are doing it and gaining from it you are only harming yourselves if you don't play them at their own game unfortunatly.

Take Reading and the 2 penalty shouts for example. If after the first Naismith appeal we gave the ref both barrels (but not too much we get carded) the next time he has a decision to make he'd be more inclined to give it our way.

Its a subconscious thing but refs are human and if they have a 50/50 decisions to make its only natural they give it in favour of the team likely to give them the most hassle for it if it goes against them.

Don't wanna play like that but if its going against us and for other teams then i'd rather do so than see us losing out.

I know what you mean,if we had got in the officials faces more after those two decisions, who knows we may even of got away with the decision against Coleman, bet Atkinson would have bent that way if the boot was on the other foot for Man U,Chelski,Citeh,RS etc.

It's a concern when you think that Neville is considered to be our 'hard-case' player. I'd also go as far as saying that we a crying out for a no-nonsense defender who would make opposition forwards think twice about taking on the Everton defence. You're right about Heitinga - the biggest bluff merchant in a blue shirt since the last faux-hardman, Gravesen.
We've got some very, very talented players at the moment but unfortunately a bit too powder-puff for my liking.

Samba would have been good.

fooked in that hes too old to play now, looks well joe was fuken gutted at the final whistle saturday,as you say a real nice lad ,and a big blue to boot

He is a top top fella, during his career with Everton he would spend his spare time helping out at loads of local 'soccer schools', essentially like a footy camp for kids to keep them off the streets and teach them how to play the game properly. I went to the camps each summer when we were off school and Joe used to come along to share his expertise and coach the lads. I can always remember him giving me advice on 50-50 tackles, 'let them know your there the first time lad and they won't come near you if you do it properly', it's probably the reason i still slide in on 5 a side pitches haha.

Boss fella though, got me trials for everton aswell since i was quite a good player who never got scouted.

Might get a load of abuse for this as he seems to be injured more then gibbo at the mo , but what about scott parker.Won't play for spurs much now but when fit he can lead by example and would be cheap enough.Plus he can play a bit to.

Think he will go to QPR, but if fit he is a decent player.

Parker would have been a great shout in terms of the player he was a few years ago to play now but these days i think he's past it really. Especially for what he'd cost.

We should go back in for Ofoe in january like. Hows he been playing 'Joao Moutinho'?

Bringing a Belgian mate to tomorrows game - a Bruges season ticket holder - in his words " the way he's played this year you wouldn't touch him with a ****ty stick".....I'm guessing it's because he missed the big move to the Premier League at the twelfth hour and so has been having a sulk. Ofoe...not my mate.
