Was chatting to a fella I used to work with the other day, he retired in July and called in to see him.
He had been saying before he retired that he'd been having some issues, shortness of breath, panic attack type stuff which had been put down to anxiety by a locum GP and given some meds.
He went back after no change and saw a different GP who asked about past smoking etc (he's not smoked for 10 yrs after smoking 3 cigars a day for 30 yrs) and doc tested him for COPD amongst other stuff.
He registered on the Gold Scale chart they use here as having mild COPD symptoms, given an inhaler for when he has his moments and been fine re other symptons since. Just a thought x
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease? Ooof, that's a bad diagnosis.

Even if it doesn’t cause them, triggering underlying issues that may have otherwise remained dormant but for abnormally high levels of what ever the active compound is (THC?) should be of concern to legislators imo.
(Edit - unless it’s clinically proven to be of no concern, just seem to me that if something is modified to make it super strength, it’s likely to be problematic)
I suspect booze is just as bad in that regard.

I wonder if it was legal if it would be moderated so it wasn’t as potent as some of this GM / hybrid stuff, or if there would still be an illegal black market for super strength strains….. Think that gear can be problematic and has more potential for psychosis & mental health issues.
This is a bit of a media myth tbh. The GM stuff that makes people into zomibes is not weed, it's herbal highs and they are technically banned in the UK so there will always be a black market for them and it's pretty easy to buy the ingredients off the internet and make your own. The 'super strength skunk' that get's mentioned, well tbh that's all BS. Cannabis plants are like any other plants in nature, there are many 100's of varieties and sub strains which have been achieved through nothing more than selective breeding techniques. It's no different to any other plant. It's pretty easy to breed/cross 2 strains, you take pollen from the male plant of one strain then cross it to the female flowers of the other strain, grow the female plant out and the buds will (hopefully) have some seeds in them. These new seeds can then be grown out and recrossed or whatever.

Preferred resin, smoked every day from mid teens till I was about 45.
Good sensi, and proper grass in Amsterdam is cool, but the homegrown stuff here was covered with all kinds and seemed to make kids aggressive.
Packing in was easier than I thought, but there are some days I could quite happily re-chong to oblivion...?

Not according to this;
Regardless, what I find most interesting in that article is the US gov has indeed set limits on the strength of the active ingredients.

It's people not 'flushing' their weed basically. At the end of a grow cycle, for the last couple of weeks before the chop you want to just feed the plants water so to try and wash out all the feed/chemicals. These numpties just in it for profit don't bother because it's adding an extra couple of weeks onto their timeframe which is money. You can always tell when weed is not flushed as the smoke burns away with a blue/purpley tinge to it rather than a crisp white one.

It seems growing has come a long way since I last did it.

I was told a lot of stuff gets sprayed with similar compounds that make spice.
The smell of burning resin always takes me back.

I'm not good at getting high any more, as it just makes me too self-conscious/paranoid, and most strangely it really keeps me up, like if I have one hit I'll be awake all night with my mind revving. For the most part, I stopped smoking it about 20 years ago. But it was boss back in high school/college when you could laugh at the dumbest things or veg-out to great tunes.

Had a dabble with green stuff again recently. Smoked alot from my teenage years to early twenties.

Was in Austin, Texas where you can legally buy it up to certain strains. Enjoyed chilling out at night having a smoke. Was in Amsterdam a few weeks back and indulged in the local produce as expected. Back at home i got some supplies like gummies, brownies, joints etc. For quiet nights in.

I enjoy a sporadic smoke but could never smoke at the same level as my younger days as i couldnt afford it and i would never do anything productive.
