I have to say, that’s kinda an insane question. Firstly the first Irish immigrants to the US were treated absolutely horrendously, and secondly there’d be nothing stopping the Irish having migrated to those countries regardless - what would definitely be different is that the Irish language would still be being predominantly spoken in Ireland not English, and realistically we’d have been genocided a lot less - but we also wouldn’t have our best rebel songs… so swings and roundabouts

I mean, that’s a discussion which is going to probably be a little contentious for this thread, and given I have relatives I never got a chance to meet due to British actions in the troubles I don’t think I can really give a balanced or reasonable response

I have relatives that I never got to see due to the Nazis but I've gotten over it. I've moved on and don't dislike Germans for being born in Germany. It's quite cathartic.

I live in Britain and my mum and a lot of my friends are British? I’ve never said I hate the British in general. If I’m honest I do hold a grudge to the British military and orange bunch, but I don’t walk around yelling “Tiochfeidh ár lá” at every random passing British person lol
