Some might say going to Everton merely continues the downward trend...

To be honest, I would have loved Mourinho when we sacked Martinez, Koeman, or Allardyce. But unless he will have a budget to radically upgrade the squad (though I suspect he will as so many of our players are out of contract), then what's the point?

With the right backing, Mourinho might see this as a phoenix opportunity - the chance to rebuild a financially strong sleeping giant as well as his reputation. But the Friedkins would need to stump up big time.

Jose is one of the top managers of all time. The problem with him is he can’t get the players to play the way he wants any more. He just can’t handle egos and if he doesn’t get his way things go sour real quick. He didn’t win the champions league twice as a massive underdog for no reason. Thankfully, none of our unflushable turds have a spine, never mind an ego, so I don't think that would be a problem although quite what the guy who coached Drogba, Robben, Lampard, Cristiano and Hazard would make of Doucourre is another matter.
