Firstly then, thank you for your patience as we migrated GrandOldTeam to a new piece of software and server overnight.

I mentioned last month why the change was necessary and we tested this software extensively prior moving to it, firstly the moderating team and then it was available to all upgraded members. We're here now because the 60+ people who trialled the software all said it was an improvement. It needed to be, this forum cost a few bob, not to mention the time invested to make it work and move the old forum to it. I hope you'll all agree the expense and effort was worth it in providing a much faster, responsive and immersive forum.

That said, as a rule Evertonians don't like change and grumbles will only be testament to our papering over the cracks on the last forum but please have faith in us that this will be better and lend us some more patience and support as we configure a few tweaks.

Click around, enjoy the new features and please help us by creating new threads to report any problems you encounter.

A question for @GrandOldTeam et al, how much info do you have on the various Guests? I assume each guest can be tracked as a unique visitor, and maybe there's nothing new with this software compared to before, but sometimes when the curtain is drawn back a little I get curious.

Then again, maybe that's not info you can/will/want to share.

On this software, I coded to segment Users vs Members on Google Analytics so can track pretty much everything ;)

So is this : "[Poor language removed]" part of a new swear filter which replaces asterisks?

Like a list of words which will be censored, presumably you still have the same rules towards swearing : don't do it and the filters a safeguard.

It saves the mods a job and helps with the google swear police.

Everybody wins, well apart from the swearer who gets taken away in the middle of the night and beaten to within an inch of his life by the google hit squad.

Oh yeah, i wasn't complaining or anything, just wondering.

I would ask if having "[Poor language removed]" instead of asterisks meant google wouldn't recognise it as swearing therefor we could swear loads and they wouldn't know, but then the censor would change it and you'd have a post full of censored words which would be really unreadable!

Yes.

Also allows me to easily search [Poor language removed] and warn everyone when I'm in a bad mood/need a power trip.
