Worst performance of the season. I agree with everyone. A performance David Moyes would have been proud of. The team knew rthe score this week, win and we're on top heading into the derby, instead we're 6th, 1pt behind and we've gotta do the chasing, i would have been okay with the point had we actually been plain unlucky, but it was a gutless performance, with Osman, Lukaku, Baines, McCarthy and in particular Distin having mediocre games, it just isn't good enough. I'm certainly not over reacting, but i think it's time to reassess the season.
Martinez got it completely wrong today, long balls to Lukaku, who's inept at being a physical threat in the air was baffling, to continue doing that, more so. Vellios must be scratching his head thinking 'Why can't i get a game', when Lukaku plays like that. As for Sylvan Distin, words fail me, the fella has been a great player for us, but christ, he just fills me with nerves every time he's on the ball, almost like he's forgotten the match.
If we play like that in 8 days time, we're gonna be in for a rude, rude awakening. Whatever that lump ball was, get that to stop. For all the great we play against the top 7-8, we consistently drop points against the lower teams, we've taken 5pts from a potential 12 against Sunderland, Stoke, West Brom and Norwich, which simply isn't good enough, especially when you see Spurs and Liverpool consistently beating these sides.

Something is going wrong with Lukaku at the moment. He´s not getting the service he needs me thinks. Long balls isn´t the answer, he´s not Mark Nolan.
Why the hate for lukaku? He got no service all night. Osman shouldn't be anywhere near that team for the derby or Stevenage. Said this on twitter but if Barry and McCarthy don't show then neither do Everton. Gotta and Howard for the goal, there was no break on when he played that ball out to rom. We need to slow down in games again, we've started rushing it too much lately.
Crystal Palace was every inch as bad as that, if not worse.

I just love the way people are saying Lukaku is crap in the air etc, said this ages ago. Said we have no squad depth and no-one willing to run at defenders (McGeady done this when he came on like) and everyone disagreed.

One of the worst performances of the season for me. Sooooooo slow knocking it about. Osman was dreadful and takes way too much time on the ball. He surely cannot start the derby..... surely.
Without barkley to draw defenders away to create space,, lukaku is left with his back to goal for the most of game. No chance. No control of the ball let alone the game and in the end, like the RS, that could be seen as a point gained. We deserved nothing from that. I can't remember a single chance in that 2nd half.

we played in one gear the whole game.
mccarthy had his poorest game so far , he did nothing.
osman was pathetic and run about like he had messed himself , trying not to move to much in case his poop fell out.
mirallas and oviedo , ok in parts but lets face it - not good team work and glory hunting to much.
lukaku - could have been coco the clown for all the good it done us. why do we have a multi million pound player yet only choose to lump long balls up to him. yet ignore crosses to him in favour of a backwards back pass to a cm who then crab pass over and over again ?
we were rubbish and id never believe we were a team with champions league aspirations and playing for 4th spot.
we now need wins against liverpool and spurs to even have a chance at any european spot imo

You cant look past the injuries to key players really. No surprise that the area we are struggling most in for bodies (attack) is were we broke down so much. Missed Pienaar a lot and his ability to just keep hold of the ball, win a fk etc. That being said, I was a little disappointed by the lack of desire to win at the end. No urgency from anyone other than Mirallas, first time you can accuse us of that under Martinez.
