Great album, and one that has been treated pretty unfairly for much of its life. I can see why people say it's a poor man's Sgt Pepper, but the reasons are mostly superficial (the timing, the sleeve, etc). It's got so much interesting stuff on it, and I know I played it long after I'd stopped spinning Sgt Pepper. Quite envious of your original 1967 vinyl!
Even with the explosion of interest in vintage vinyl, it's still a reasonable buy. Saw a minty 1967 US version in a shop recently for $40.When I play it mate my missus is like "Here we go, weirdo time" saying that she's a big Mick Hucknell fan .
Know what you're saying mate, it's deffo one of those underrated albums. The album I've got is near mint and I was surprised how easy it was to get hold of.

On a compilation cassette tape ! I was given a few years' ago :Expensive taste, £400 ish on original vinyl ?
Given it acted as a showcase for Brian Jones’ multi instrumentalist talents, I am not surprised Richards and Jagger slag it off whenever it is mentioned!Great album, and one that has been treated pretty unfairly for much of its life.
