Been listening to Apple Musics Atmos / Produced for Spatial Audio playlist today. Quality / spatial effect is really quite good on these tracks.

after all of that, the Deafheaven is ultimately quite boring

Alcest have been doing blackgaze much better for longer.
The Angelic Process did it best, although "doomgaze" might suit them better. Their sound is much heavier.
