Have you heard the Jazz Messengers under Art Blakey? A lot of similarities. However this sounds like it's got a ska infusion. Good stuff. Going to have to buy a few sounds from Amazon.

Oh yes, love me some Art Blakey! They are such an odd makeup aswell, two drummers, a sax and a tuba doing the bass, 'mazin!!

Takes me back to listening to Ravi Shankar , I know he's not playing the sittar but just got that feel to it. I'm sure you guys have heard Ravi Shankar but if not I wholeheartedly recommend a listen.

Follow his trail through B12 records, Firescope, it will take you to Steve Pickton (Stasis) an underated artist and onto Kirk Degiorgio (As One/Elegy) who leans towards a more jazz bent...
