What are you currently listening to?

My instinct, borne of probably 50 years of listening to Simon and Garfunkel, as one of my favourite acts, is that "having a go" at another artist like that would be out of character. I'd go with the "nonsensical" opinion.

Its true though that S&G and Bob Dylan's lyrics are fantastic poetry with subtlety, observation and layers. A stark contrast with the simplistic, shallow stuff that constitutes much of pop music in the last 20 years.
Exactly! Like Mr. Tambourine Man for instance... Bob has said it's not about drugs, he said it's about however it speaks to you.

I had a mate who went through a tough time with addiction and rehab. Every time he hears that song, he starts to well up and he says: Every bloody word mate..

Well, we all know that Paul was the talented one! :p

Art was just the afro and back-up singer..

Still one of my favourite songs!

my brother, who isn't even really into many bands, said Turnstile were the best live act he saw at glastonbury, they're taking over
They're absolutely mustard live. And based on the coverage they where exactly that at Glasto too.

I'd love them to get a proper push in the mainstream because they really have all the tools to break through. Like you can play pretty much anything from the recent album on Radio 1 in the day time. That's the sort of platform it should be given.

Their sound is accessible without needing the edges sanding for normal radio play, they look cool as f*** and they have that thing that truly great bands have where every member has a personality on stage. It isn't just about the front man (who btw is absolutely excellent).

Might have to disrupt my Cure session with a small Turnstile break between Faith and Pornography. What a band.

Yeah, they could def get pushed a bit more in the UK. As you say, you could watch any one of them live and just have a great time.

Pornography is my favourite Cure album, i think

Yeah it was my favourite too but having gone in more on the (imo) golden run of "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me", "Disintegration" and "Wish". I'd have all 3 over Pornography.

Has to be Disintegration as number 1 for me. A genuinely perfect album.
