What are some of your favourite post hardcore/emo bands @Parker NSNO ?

It's very rare to find anybody else to talk about this stuff with!
I absolutely adore The Get Up Kids, reckon Something to Write Home About is in my top 10 favourite albums. I'd also personally class a lot of what The Wonder Years do as emo especially No Closer To Heaven which I'm having over The Greatest Generation.

Post Hardcore is such a wide umbrella term for a lot of bands but I love At The Drive In, Thursday, Refused and Funeral for a Friend. My favourite band of all time are AFI and you could probably class some of their early 2000s stuff as post hardcore. In terms of new bands though Bloom are the one.

Yourself?

Love the Get Up Kids too - Actually saw them a few weeks ago supporting Jimmy Eat World (another favourite, and their Clarity album might be my favourite 'emo' album)

Have dipped into the Wonder Years a little (mainly their Sister Cities album) but need to explore a little more

Love Thursday, Refused and ATDI too - Some other favourites would be Appleseed Cast, Cave In, Saosin, Copeland, Pedro The Lion, Dismemberment Plan, Elliott (their 'False Cathedrals' is a forgotten masterpiece), Far, Fireside (The Swedish Quicksand), Glassjaw, Helmet, Kevin Devine etc

Have a listen to that, the singers voice gets me every time. Funnily enough says his biggest vocal inspiration is Adam Duritz which you can defo hear.

ha! yeah, it's great. very psychedelic 60's. The whole album came out today if you have a bit of time:

Haha just came here to post this. Got it on now. Fantastic stuff. Two of my favourite artists.

Shame I've got to wait until November for the vinyl.

Edit: I'm up to "Living in the After", and this is an album of the year contender. Might have said before, something like Spacemen 3 might have turned out like if Jason Pierce had been replaced by Brian Wilson.
