I agree mate, Derek is an incredible drummer and a great all-round musician. Probably one of the very best drummers I've seen live.

Atom is good - I've seen him a couple of times with AVA/Offspring, but as you say he tends to pass through bands quite quickly.

Hopefully we'll get some new Trio stuff before too long... now Matt's no longer in Blink it should be a case of changed priorities on that front.
Spot on mate… Derek did the lot! Decent at writing, guitars and vocals, he brought a lot to the table. Matt needs to somehow get back to the writing of the early days, his lyrics were very clever and witty in the early albums. Finger crossed mate 🤞🏻

Mate, I am so jealous.

I would’ve loved to have gone, just couldn’t afford to go.

I hope they’re on absolutely top form for you.

Gig report please.

They were absolutely fantastic mate, I'm still buzzing now. I was a little apprehensive leading up to it as they do look so much older than in their pomp and I felt I might be getting a DM lite experience.

I actually had to check as I saw the Rolling Stones way back when, to see if Dave was older than Mick at that time. Turns out Jagger was slightly older by a year or a two and even though he was still moving you could tell it was a band past their peak. No such issues with DM. Dave still moves like he did going back 10 or more years, amazing stamina and will to run and spin at 61! All their songs sound better live than the recorded versions and of course the highlight is seeing the crowd wave their hands to Never let me down again. I think I'm more of a fan of them than I was before yesterday.

One thing that was quite odd is the fact usually you feel pummelled after a gig due to the noise trying to burst your chest. Not sure it's a health and safety thing that they've turned the volume down, or it's just the size of Twickenham but was definitely nowhere near as bad.

I’m gutted they didn‘t do more than one UK show.

I‘ve been to Twickenham for rugby and it’s a great stadium - very user friendly.

Glad it was everything you expected and more ;)

Cheers mate. I originally hadn't planned to go as I didn't want the hassle of going to Twickenham, it's about 3 hours travelling for me. As it got closer I thought I just have to go, so went all in but like you I would have much preferred a few UK dates spread around.
