Check out their comeback album 'Slowdive' from 2017, the 'Souvlaki" LP from 93, and the 'Holding Our Breath' EP from 91 for a taste of their formative sound. But you can't go wrong with any of their stuff.

Stafford Poly in 1991 for me, although I had heard of them by then.
Was at their reunion gig at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen as well.
Weirdly, I met my ex- girlfriend of about 20 years previous at that gig, and we ended up chatting to Rachel and Mark Gardner from Ride for ages. My ex and Rachel have been best mates ever since.
