Wanted to vote both 90s and 00s… 90s being in Uni and the 00’s when I moved to the UK (02 to 05) and just could be selfish for the first time in years and earning real money for the first time too.

Music, parties, friends, experimentation, no social media! … would do it all again.. only I would appreciate how amazing it was the next time round..

Having struggled with some darkness of my own, I found that the more I considered the when I was happiest and the whys with it, it prevented me from accepting what had happened and being able to get onto terms and move forwards. Guaranteeing that there was no more happiness on its way as I was to busy carrying around the past. Ordinarily this is where I'd quote something like "you've got to live for today as its a gift, thats why its called the present" and other such. The thing is you might be right, and life tends to be much less painful (physically and mentally) in your 20s and 30s if you're lucky. The thing is you never know whats round the corner, for better or worse, its the living it and cherishing the moments with family and friends where you can that keep us together and carrying on for. Whatever is burning your backside, it isn't worth despairing over. Though it's easier said than done.
Is that a Smith's song ?

The '90s but there's probably a fair bit of rose-tinted spec-wearing going on there. They all had personal highs and lows.
Oh yeah i bad times back then as well, but overall things didn't seem as bleak then as they are now. The 90's had great video gaming, and it was when the Internet started to really take off. I feel that my favourite sports the football, the GAA and aussie rules were way better back then as well.

What i hate about the modern era is the whole look at me with my selfie culture, the whole obsession with being online 24/7, and recording everything and anything and putting it up on Facebook and Instagram etc. The 90's had enough technology for me without the negative aspects imo.

Both the 90's and early to mid noughties were by far my favourite time to be alive, but i'm sure there will still be some good times coming my way in the future as well. It's just with covid, and talks of rising electricity costs i find the current period of time to be a bit more challenging.

near dead-heat between 70's & 90's. Cultural peaks both. 90's edge it, as it was the first decade where we were provided with the affordable means to create our own culture (music equipment, digicams, computers etc).
In Ireland in 1990 we had the excitement of the world cup, the hardship of the 80's ended there and then, and it heralded the start of better times in this country.

The economy started to pick itself up off the floor, we had the whole celtic tiger thing, and we also had the demise of the catholic church, as a source of influence and power in this country.

So yeah the 90's was a wonderful decade to grow up in, and while it was a turbulent decade for Everton, we still won what is still sadly our most recent major trophy. It's been a long time between drinks indeed on that front.

@Sinski 1990 wasn't a bad year for you either! There was some serious celebrating in my house that year, from June all the way through to the middle of September alright, but the celebrations in your place on the evening of October 6th 1990 possibly could have been even bigger!
