What do you get from the chippy

Fully expect its the same across the great Scottish nation to be honest, unfortunately I only have Scottish chippie experience in Glasgow. I was a bit drunk after a night out and went off alone in search of food.
Had to wait for chips so got a battered sausage while I waited and proclaimed it to be the best I'd ever had and then stood outside telling everyone that walked past.
Had a cheek charging me to be honest, I got a lot of people through their doors that night.

I did live by a great chippie in Blackpool however the caveat is that it was ran by Scots. Hence the deep fried black pudding, Mars bars and jam butties.
Sounds lethal!

Chippies in Glasgow are on another level to anything you get in England these days.

Food is as good as you remember it being as a kid.

Nah, some of the chippies in Yorkshire are off the scale good.

A lot of them only have a menu of about ten things and the fish and chips are cooked in dripping.

Pre veggie days, I remember getting takeaway fish and chips at a place on the front at Bridlington, that was one of the finest things I’ve ever eaten.

The simple fact, is that in East / North York’s a chippy will shut within weeks if the food isn‘t good / the portions are small.

…whenever I was working in Leeds and then travelling on to Newcastle, I’d stay in a hotel in Wetherby on the opposite side of the A1 to the racecourse. There was a lovely chippy nearby, a bit of a Harry Ramsden vibe but only small.

Had to look it up John and as I thought down here they're known as chipsteaks, says it's called mock chop in the Dundee area.
But yeah, I used to get a chipsteak supper regularly when I first came up here.
It's now a spicey haggis supper for me nowadays though.
We also have a ribsteak which is basically a pork burger.
Missus gets a special fish supper (haddock in breadcrumbs and chips)
My youngest lad likes a pizza crunch (pizza in batter then deep fried) which is tastier than it sounds 🤣
Mock chop up here.
Speaking off meat dishes the king rib is vanishing off the menus

I'll have a bag of scraps with that please.

Deffo get the best chippies in Yorkshire.
