What do you get from the chippy

Really struggled to find good curry sauce in Bristol. One place up in Redland was reliable but they've closed.

Yeah I do agree, especially with the places that aren't really chippies serving kebabs or pizzas.

Although the one by me in St Annes is a good chippie ran by a family of Greeks, good guys and decent food for most part.

Run down Chinese places are usually the best indicator of quality (or nostalgia) in my book.

Mock chop supper and curry sauce. Won’t have anything else.

You a fan @larbert toffee
Had to look it up John and as I thought down here they're known as chipsteaks, says it's called mock chop in the Dundee area.
But yeah, I used to get a chipsteak supper regularly when I first came up here.
It's now a spicey haggis supper for me nowadays though.
We also have a ribsteak which is basically a pork burger.
Missus gets a special fish supper (haddock in breadcrumbs and chips)
My youngest lad likes a pizza crunch (pizza in batter then deep fried) which is tastier than it sounds 🤣

Looked that up. Looks like what we call a steakette here.

I actually don’t mind a pizza crunch but a full one is too greasy lol. I get a half every now and again. I also like a cheese in burger.

Boss mate. I’ve lived on both the west and east coast of Scotland and chippys have been class everywhere. Down to the Scottish being full on unhealthy fookers.

Fully expect its the same across the great Scottish nation to be honest, unfortunately I only have Scottish chippie experience in Glasgow. I was a bit drunk after a night out and went off alone in search of food.
Had to wait for chips so got a battered sausage while I waited and proclaimed it to be the best I'd ever had and then stood outside telling everyone that walked past.
Had a cheek charging me to be honest, I got a lot of people through their doors that night.

I did live by a great chippie in Blackpool however the caveat is that it was ran by Scots. Hence the deep fried black pudding, Mars bars and jam butties.
