Playing too expansive at home. It actually makes us toothless because we cant win the ball.

Flat back 4, 3 in midfield, compact shape, hoof it long.

Simple gameplay away from home and it works. At home we are just arrogant and arre getting schooled every week.

To me the biggest issue that Everton have, is basic but massive, is the inability to make consistent successful forward passes. Obviously there's underlying factors (personnel, tactics, training?) But to me that's a major culprit behind our misfortune.

Overconfidence. It is hard to believe the struggle we have had with the current bottom 4 teams (even in the matches we have won).

Too many players who are passive.

Gomes, Sigurdsson, Davies, Rodriguez... these aren't going to press/recover the ball - do the honest work off the ball.

Then we have no width/balance other than Digne.

Without Calvert-Lewin we have no out ball/focal point.

The period between 2016 and 2019 is our biggest problem. Monumental damage was done by three managers and Steve Walsh. Damage which will take years to repair, and Carlo potentially may not be able to repair.
By the time he gets 'his' team together, James and Allan will likely be in their early 30's. We are chasing our tail and have amassed a squad of absolute dog dirt. For every great signing we buy (Doucoure/James) there is double the dirt from yesteryear needed to flog (Gomes, Siggy, Bernard, Iwobi).

Expansive Expansive, my god if sitting back at home and letting Harrison Reed look like Andrea Pirlo, if not putting in a tackle or getting close to men, if playing 300 square balls between defenders, if not breaking the lines apart from one run by our right back, if having 5 slow attacking? Players on the field at once is expansive i hate to see what our defensive formation is like.

Absolutely horrific performance and result. At no stage from the 2nd minute did i think we were going to win that game.

Honestly, such meltdown territory this. We played two hours of footy on Weds and were always gonna struggle against a Fulham team who, really, if they had a goal scorer, would be higher up the table than they are.

We have a gulf in quality in the squad, it’s been a season where we’ve played twice a week as standard, and there’s no fans. But lads the table does not lie.

Regardless of the brand of footy, Carlo is getting more out of this group of players than I thought he could. A few more wins and we’re back on top four territory. Last time we had a tough run of games we came through with flying colours and I wouldn’t bet against us getting some unexpected results in the next few fixtures.

I think the issue is one of mentality. The players aren’t used to being in a position of control, and we’re struggling to perform when we’re expected to. We have a great winning mentality when the backs against the wall, but struggle to put a performance together against those teams you’d probably expect us to dominate.

A few additions to the squad with players who have a better, perhaps a more professional attitude, and we’ll be reyt.

Our league position is a massively false one. Our players are pure dung. But the likes of bielsa can coach supposedly championship standard players into a slick passing, offensively potent team. Our coaching needs huge scrutiny, the style of football is Allardyce-like. Very negative.
