What Song Do You Most Hate ?

So, reading this thread makes me realise that every song ever written is hated by someone.
This is it. Music is such an intensely personality thing. To me, it either catches me for some ineffable reason, or I'm ambivalent. And if I'm ambivalent, I resent the waste of time to my ears and quickly can't stand it.

This was most of the 1980s for me - electronic drumbeats, repetitive meaningless lyrics and synths can get in the bin. Sadly this is the stuff that marketing people love to push onto the radio ... mass produced pap.

Give me a ballad any day. A story about an event or dream, am idea that brings joy or tragedy. Accompany it with a real, rich resonant instrument or engaging soundscape and I'm there.

But it's personal - stuff I like, others don't. I'm not about to say the music I like is better than 80s electronic stuff as there are clearly many fans of that kind of thing.

Have I got a thread for you honey...

(I left the ballad bit in 'cos you mentioned a story, did you follow the story in 'Stan' my Eminem?)

Saw that thread, never dipped in.

That isn't to say I haven't gone through a Vangellis, Tangerine Dream or JM Jarre electronic phase of my own during my teenage years. But the better my hifi got the more I realised what detail I was missing out on with electronic music.

The Bee Song by Arthur Askey.
He was always on the box in the sixties guesting in some show or other and rubbing shoulders with the likes of The Beatles.
The above song encapsulates Askey's cheeky and insufferable demeanour.
